Breaking into medicine isn’t just about grades… it’s about access. Access to the right people, the right experiences, and the right guidance at the right time.

First Rounds exists for the students who don’t have a physician in the family, a mentor in the field, or a clear roadmap into healthcare. If you’ve ever had an interest in the medical field but weren’t sure what you would pursue, you’re in the right place.

Here, you can ask questions, get answers, and learn about healthcare careers that interest you. Additionally, every three months, a select number of students will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on shadowing experience alongside a healthcare provider in different specialties in various healthcare settings along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This will allow students to gain more insight into what they truly want to pursue.

This isn’t about who you know. It’s about what you’re willing to learn.
