Description: Cardiac Electrophysiologists are types of cardiologists that have completed extra training to diagnose and treat problems with the heart’s electrical system and rhythm. They are essentially the electricians of the heart. 

Characteristics Needed: To be a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, one should be able to: Pay close attention to detail, think analytically, communicate well, etc.

Schooling: Bachelor’s Degree – 4 years, Medical School – 4 years, Internal Medicine Residency – 3 years, Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship – 3 years, Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship – 1/2 years
